Best Yoga School in Goa

Soft breath, quiet heart, peace begins.

Goa’s known for its beaches, but for many students who come here, it becomes something more a place to slow down and tune in. At Ekam Yogashala, we’ve brought our teaching to this coastal setting not just for the beauty, but because it offers the space people often need to reconnect with themselves.

Our yoga center is simple, peaceful, and right by the sea. You’ll hear waves during your practice instead of traffic, and the pace of life here helps you ease into learning without pressure. The group energy is strong, but still personal. You’ll meet people from different walks of life, but all with the same goal—to grow through yoga.

We’ve been running our school in Goa for over a decade, guiding students from across the world. Goa is a natural extension of that journey—same heart, same quality, just with salt in the air and sand under your feet.

Whether this is your first step into yoga or you’re taking it deeper, our course in Goa isn’t just about theory or poses. It’s about showing up every day, being present, and leaving with something real within yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions – 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Goa

This training is designed for students who’ve already completed a 200-hour Yoga Alliance–certified course. If you’ve been teaching for a while or simply want to deepen your practice, philosophy, and teaching confidence, this course will support that next level.
Yes, absolutely. As long as your 200-hour certification is Yoga Alliance–recognized, you're welcome to join the 500-hour course at Ekam Yogashala.
The 500-hour course is a full, back-to-back 200 + 300 hour experience—but in your case, since the 200 is already done, you’re going into 59 days of intense, advanced training. Compared to the 300-hour course, it goes deeper into practice, includes more teaching labs, longer meditation sessions, and builds serious stamina—mentally and physically.
Once you complete the course, you’ll receive a 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate from Ekam Yogashala. This lets you register with Yoga Alliance USA as an RYT 500—recognized globally by studios and organizations.
We keep our batches small—usually 10 to 20 students. This allows for personal attention, hands-on correction, and actual connection with the teachers (not just being one face in a crowd).
It’s immersive, but manageable. You’ll have two asana practices a day—Hatha in the morning and Ashtanga in the evening—along with breathwork, meditation, and lectures. If you come with a base level of fitness and mental readiness, you’ll do great. And yes, rest is part of the plan. One full day off each week.
Yes. You’ll be guided to plan, teach, and refine your classes—individually and in small groups. Our team gives feedback throughout, so you can build real confidence, not just memorize a script.
It happens. We’re flexible within reason. If you need to skip a session due to illness or personal reasons, we’ll help you make it up later or catch up with support material. Your health always comes first.
Yes, no problem. We offer extended stay options. Extra days cost $30 USD (room) and $15 USD (meals) per day. Just let us know early so we can reserve your spot.
Yes, especially if you enjoy being close to nature. Goa offers a calming atmosphere, clean air, and quiet beaches—ideal for deep practice. While Rishikesh has more temples and foot traffic, Goa gives you space to slow down and turn inward.
Nope. We provide mats, blocks, straps, and bolsters. If you have a mat you love, bring it, but it's not required.
You’ll eat three vegetarian sattvic meals a day—cooked fresh, inspired by Ayurvedic principles. Think: porridge, fruits, thali-style lunch, and light dinners. Herbal teas too. We accommodate vegan and gluten-free diets with advance notice.
We don’t recommend it. The course is full-time and immersive. Your days are packed, and the point is to disconnect a little—to go inward, not juggle emails and deadlines. Take this time for yourself.
Yes. Goa is one of the most visited places in India for solo travelers—especially yoga students. Our center is in a quiet, friendly area, and we’re here to support you throughout your stay.
Light clothes, yoga wear, a good reusable water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, a light jacket for early mornings, and any personal items you might need. You can buy essentials nearby if you forget something.
From October to March, it’s mostly sunny and warm during the day, with cooler mornings and evenings. It’s pleasant for practice, and the sea breeze adds a nice touch.
No, pickups aren’t included in the standard fee. But we can arrange reliable taxis for you, or you can ask about seasonal promotions—we sometimes include free pickup during special offers.
Yes. You get one full day off each week, usually Sunday. It’s perfect for exploring Goa, relaxing, or just catching up on rest and journaling.
